My Story

I never really pictured myself as a mother. My husband and I were married for seven years when I blurted out that I didn’t know if I wanted kids or not. His whole reality shattered in that single moment. We knew we were Cosmic Love Partners and absolutely meant to be together, so we didn’t even think to have the conversation until we were getting our first puppy together. After that, I had to contend with the pressure of knowing how much fatherhood meant to him, and my own fears and hesitations around having a child. Through deep self-inquiry, intention, visioning, therapy, and spiritual support and transformation, I was able overcome my blocks and open to the idea of starting a family. But I had some unique conditions. I envisioned going somewhere special to create what I called a “Conscious Conception Ceremony” to call in a soul not just to join our family, but that wants to make the world a better place. I also had a list of things I wanted to do and experience before starting a family; I called it my “Youthful Freedom List.” The year we conceived our first child, my one thing I had to experience was swimming with whales. From there, my husband and I made a plan to go swim with the Humpback Whales in French Polynesia and to use that trip to connect with each other, with mother nature, and ceremonialize our intention of calling in a “world peace baby.”
